Manchester United are now engaging in talks with Chelsea over a potential swap deal.

Over recent weeks, both clubs have looked to the other for a potential transfer, with neither yet to make a move.

As such, the pair of Premier League sides have now begun considering a like for like swap.

Chelsea emerged as the sole suitors for Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho when Napoli pulled out of the running.

The other way, United have been monitoring the situation surrounding Christopher Nkunku.

The Chelsea striker has been considering a move to German giants Bayern Munich in a bid for more game time, having agreed personal terms with the club.

Now Florian Plettenberg has reported that a swap deal could be on the table.

Chelsea are considering a £60 million bid for Garnacho despite Enzo Maresca’s recent comments claiming he’s happy with the squad.

The Blues’ manager commented: “I’m happy with what we have. On the right, it’s Neto and Noni. On the left, we have Sancho. We had Misha but he’s not with us. Tyrique [George] is an option.”

However, with Mykhaylo Mudryk currently facing a four year ban, Garnacho could slot into the void caused by his suspention.

Whilst no decision has been made as of yet, everything suggests this mutually beneficial deal has the potential to get across the line before deadline day.

This is a breaking story with more to follow.
