Manchester United are set to rival Chelsea as they look to reinforce their attack.
The Red Devils are struggling in front of goal this season, relying on Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo to add to their goal tally.
Strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to consistently hit the mark, with Hojlund even going 20 games without a goal contribution, let alone a goal.
As such, United are looking to the transfer market to recruit a reliable striker this summer.
Unfortunately for Ruben Amorim, Chelsea are looking to rival them as they both fight for a proven Premier League striker.

Manchester United rival Chelsea for Liam Delap

ESPN has now revealed that Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap has emerged as United’s top summer target, surpassing Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres on their attacking shortlist.
Delap is now proven in the Premier League, having scored 12 goals and grabbed two assists in 30 league games since joining from Manchester City last summer.
Now, with Ipswich looking likely to be relegated, Delap could be up for grabs for only £40 million, much cheaper than United’s alternative targets.
Unfortunately United aren’t only facing Chelsea in the race to sign him, but also former side City as The Citizens included a buy-back clause in his ale.
However, with Erling Haaland’s nine-and-a-half year contract penned this season, and Omar Marmoush getting signed in the winter, it’s unlikely that City will trigger the clause for Delap.
That said, they’ll still benefit from any sale of the 22-year-old, with a 20% sell-on also being included, meaning United could effectively be paying their rivals £4 million to sign the talented young striker.
