Manchester United’s search for a goalkeeper may finally be reaching concrete stages.
With the new season fast approaching, fans are growing increasingly frustrated at the lack of movement in the goalkeeping department.
Despite initial hopes of change, it had appeared that Andre Onana will remain the club’s first-choice between the posts.

A decision that has left many supporters uneasy following his inconsistent displays since his arrival.
United have explored other options, including a cut-price deal for Botafogo’s John Victor.
However, more established names have also been considered, with Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez long admired by figures at Carrington.
And now, fresh reports suggest that interest is turning into genuine movement behind the scenes.
According to journalist Gaston Edul on X, Manchester United have advanced concretely in their pursuit of Martinez and are currently in negotiations with Aston Villa.
As news circulated earlier today, Villa’s signing of Marco Bizot from Brest has only fuelled speculation that Martinez could be on the move.
The Dutch international, 34, arrives with Champions League experience and looks set to provide direct competition.

He is expected to be a straight replacement for Martinez.
It follows the reports of United’s continued scouting of Martinez amid concerns over both Onana’s form and Altay Bayindir’s future.
With Ruben Amorim open to reshaping his squad, Martinez’s arrival would be a major boost for United.
Fans will be hoping Martinez joins and goes on to become the stalwart keeper the club have missed since the days of David de Gea.
For now, he has rejoined Unai Emery’s squad for pre-season training.
He’s also expected to feature in Villa’s friendly against Walsall.
