The summer transfer window continues to keep Premier League fans on edge as clubs manoeuvre to finalise their squads before the season kickoff.

Manchester City have been busy strengthening their ranks, with recent signings aimed at boosting depth and quality across the pitch.

With the Etihad side managing their squad transitions carefully, attention is turning to the goalkeeper position, where uncertainty has begun to build.

Ederson’s future remains a key talking point amid speculation of a potential move away from Manchester, sparking rumours of who could replace him if he departs.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have been linked with Paris Saint-Germain’s Italy No. 1 goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is out of contract next summer and yet to agree an extension with PSG.

CentreDevils exclusively revealed that United held talks to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Now according to Fabrice Hawkins, via X, Manchester City are preparing to make a move for Donnarumma should Ederson leave the club.

PSG are understood to be willing to accept an offer in the region of £43 million as they seek to offload Donnarumma following the arrival of Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, who is expected to take over as their new No. 1.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper is said to prefer a Premier League move if he is to leave the Parc des Princes, adding to the intrigue over his next destination.

City have already taken steps to strengthen their goalkeeping options, re-signing James Trafford from Burnley, who was initially tipped to become the new first-choice keeper.

However, the evolving situation has left Manchester City’s plans open-ended, with Donnarumma now emerging as a serious candidate to fill the potential vacancy left by Ederson.

The developments at both Manchester clubs emphasise the ever-shifting dynamics of the transfer market, where competition for top talent remains fierce.

With the season fast approaching, a move for Donnarumma could have significant implications for both City and United, especially as United continue to explore goalkeeper options themselves.

For now, all eyes remain on the Etihad and the Parc des Princes as this goalkeeper saga unfolds over the coming weeks.
