Manchester United’s pre-season will offer manager Ruben Amorim valuable insight into which players he can rely on in the 2025/26 campaign.

Despite some encouraging performances in their first pre-season game against Leeds United this weekend, the future of several key names remains uncertain, with the club weighing up major changes to its attacking options.

Jadon Sancho and Antony is still training away from the first team, while Alejandro Garnacho, meanwhile, has reportedly attracted interest from across Europe.

With the club looking to rebuild under Amorim’s system, decisions on outgoings could open the door for fresh firepower to arrive.

And one name that keeps resurfacing in internal discussions is already well known to a senior United figure.

Manchester United are keeping tabs on RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko – and it’s Christopher Vivell who is said to be driving the interest from inside Old Trafford.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, via YouTube, who claims Vivell’s connection to the RB Group has reignited talks about the Slovenian forward as a future star.

Vivell, who previously held key roles at both RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig, worked closely with Benjamin Sesko during his rise through the Red Bull ranks and is understood to rate him very highly.

The link makes sense – Sesko has the physicality, movement and potential to thrive in the Premier League and fits the mould of striker Amorim could build around.

However, Romano also confirmed that there have been no formal negotiations between Leipzig and United at this stage, with any potential move currently hinging on outgoings.

The Red Devils are prepared to make space in the squad, but until there is clarity over the futures of Sancho, Antony and Garnacho, there will be no approach for Sesko.

It’s a familiar position for United, who have often waited too long to act in the market.

But with Vivell pushing behind the scenes and Amorim needing a long-term option up front, this is one to watch as the window heats up.
