Kobbie Mainoo’s development at Manchester United has slowed in recent months, with the midfielder struggling to secure regular minutes under Ruben Amorim.
The 20-year-old has not played a single minute so far this season, having not featured against Arsenal or Fulham
It’s come as huge intrigue to fans, considering his reputation as one of the brightest prospects to come through Carrington in recent years.
Talks over a new contract have also stalled, leaving uncertainty over his long-term future at Old Trafford.
For a player tipped to be a central figure for club and country, the lack of opportunities has inevitably sparked speculation about a potential move.
Now, interest is growing from abroad.

According to the Daily Mail’s report, Napoli are emerging as surprise suitors for Mainoo, with the Serie A champions expected to raise his name during negotiations with United this week.
Those talks are primarily centred on striker Rasmus Hojlund, who could join on loan with an obligation to buy based on appearances.
But, Napoli view Mainoo as a potential addition too.
The Italians can offer the youngster Champions League football – something that may prove decisive if United sanction an exit.
Napoli would also represent a familiar destination for United midfielders, following Scott McTominay’s stunning impact last season, where he was named Serie A Player of the Year.
However, Antonio Conte already boasts a stacked midfield, with McTominay, Kevin De Bruyne, Frank Anguissa and Stanislav Lobotka among his options, plus Billy Gilmour pushing for minutes.
Such competition could limit Mainoo’s role, yet the England youth international is reportedly intrigued by the prospect of proving himself on the continent.
Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are keeping a close eye on Mainoo’s situation too.
The Englishman is believed to prefer a move to continental Europe, rather than staying in the Premier League.
United have set an asking price of around £45m, a fee that certainly won’t put off any potential suitors.
