Manchester United’s transfer business is far from over as Ruben Amorim looks to stamp his authority in his first full season in charge.

After securing the signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5million, the Red Devils are pressing on with their bid to land Bryan Mbeumo, having submitted a fresh offer worth over £60million this week.

All eyes are on United’s summer reshuffle, with several new faces expected and a host of academy stars eager to cement their place under Amorim.

Among them is England international Kobbie Mainoo, who has been the subject of serious interest from rival Premier League clubs.

Chelsea were previously circling and United slapped a £70million price tag on the midfielder earlier in the year.

That interest hasn’t completely cooled, but it appears Kobbie Mainoo has made up his mind.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Mainoo has decided to stay at Manchester United and fight for his place.

The 20-year-old wants to rediscover his best form at Old Trafford, having had internal discussions with Amorim that made it clear he is determined to succeed with his boyhood club.

The Portuguese boss has already held positive talks with Mainoo since the end of last season and sees the midfielder as a valuable piece in his evolving squad.

Injury setbacks limited Mainoo’s involvement during the 2024/25 campaign, and with Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte ahead of him in the pecking order, he struggled to nail down a spot in his favoured central role.

However, Mainoo is now focused on forcing his way into Amorim’s first-choice midfield.

United have no interest in letting the midfielder leave this summer.

GMS also report that a new and improved contract is in the pipeline, with the club planning to reward him for his progression since breaking into the first team.

Currently earning £25,000 per week, Mainoo’s contract runs until 2026, but talks are expected to accelerate in the coming weeks as United aim to lock him down for the long term.

Amorim may not have defined where Mainoo fits best into his tactical setup just yet, but the club is confident that a fully fit version of the youngster will be a force in pre-season.

With Arsenal awaiting on the opening day, Mainoo is targeting a starting role — and United insiders believe fans will see a revitalised talent ready to take the next step in his career.
