Manchester United could be on the brink of considering an offer for homegrown star Kobbie Mainoo.
News emerged this week that United were facing problems in their bid to extend Mainoo’s contract past it’s current end date of 2027.
The Red Devils are looking to secure the long-term future of their talented youngster after his breakthrough season last year, earning him a nomination for the Golden Boy award.
However, negotiations have stalled with the defensive midfielder unhappy with the initial offer from the club.
Mainoo is looking to a wage, reflective of his role as a regular starter at Old Trafford and receiving regular call ups to he England squad.
As such, the 19-year-old is looking for a salary of £200,000 per week, with United yet to agree to the request.
With the contract talks now stalled, other clubs are monitoring the situation, with Chelsea leading the pack to sign the star if he indicates he’s open to a move.
Now, The Mirror have reported what Chelsea would need to offer up for United to agree to a transfer.

Manchester United put massive price tag on Kobbie Mainoo
The Mirror have reported that United are looking for a massive £70 million to part ways with Kobbie Mainoo if the youngster decided he wants to leave.
At this time, it doesn’t look likely, with Mainoo wanting to stay at Old Trafford, still featuring heavily in Ruben Amorim’s starting line-ups.
However, with the immense financial pressures the club are under, they aren’t naïve to the benefit of a potential deal.
Whilst the 19-year-old was once deemed “untouchable”, United are accepting the situation that the right deal for the star could give them a huge financial boost.
As Mainoo is a graduate of the United academy, under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) his sale would be regarded as pure profit, supporting the clubs easing of financial pressures.
