Manchester United had an eventful transfer window this summer, signing five stars to their ranks.

The Red Devils focused on their defensive reinforcements, signing Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. Mazraoui and de Ligt have already broken into the first squad’s starting line-up, however, Yoro is yet to make his competitive debut thanks to injury. The centre-back is recovering well though, with Amorim excited to work with him once he is fully fit in the coming weeks.

In midfield, Manuel Ugarte was signed, bringing his aggression and determination to win balls back, recently being praised by Paul Scholes. The former United midfielder commented that Ugarted looked excellent against PAOK in the Europa League, especially paired with Casemiro.

The final signing of the five was striker Joshua Zirkzee, however, it’s recently been revealed that Erik ten Hag wasn’t keen on the idea of signing him.

Before his arrival, ten Hag didn’t want the striker, which was only made worse when he arrived at Carrington a stone overweight. Zirkzee’s difficulty in shifting the weight has been one of the main reasons for his lack of game time so far this season.

However, it appears that Amorim is of the same thought process as ten Hag, being happy to let the star go in January.

Juventus look to move for Joshua Zirkzee in January

Alfredo Pedulla has recently reported that Juventus are keeping an eye on Joshua Zirkzee, with Amorim looking to send the tar out on loan as reported by TuttoSport relayed by GiveMeSport.

Juventus currently sit in sixth place, only two points below first-place Napoli, in a close-run fight for the top spot. So far this season, Juve have only lost one game, a Champions League match-up with VfB Stuttgart.

However, the Italian side are looking at increasing their firepower by bringing in Zirkzee, who is already proven in Serie A.

Last season, Zirkzee grabbed 12 goals and seven assists for Bologna across 37 matches, helping them to a fifth-place finish in Serie A, reaching the Quarter-Final of the Italy Cup.

However, since arriving at Old Trafford, Zirkzee has been lacking in minutes on the pitch, only making 17 appearances, averaging 41 minutes per match. In this time the striker has only scored a singular goal, with two assists.

Amorim will be hoping that a loan move can help Zirkzee find his fitness, whilst the Portuguese manager assesses if he will fit into the new Manchester United system.
