Manchester United are set for a huge shift around this summer with several contracts coming to an end, other players looking to be sold, and a need to sign more top talent to the club.
In midfield, The Red Devils are set to lose Christian Eriksen at the end of his contract as well as aiming to cash in on Casemiro before his contract ends next year.
The Brazilian will be eligible for a pre-contract agreement in the winter transfer window, lining up his move for next summer as a free transfer.
As such, United’s final chance of selling the veteran midfielder comes summer, with a replacement needed given his recent surge in game time.
Whilst Eriksen has been a sporadic face on the pitch under Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese manager has relied on Casemiro to cover his many injury woes.
However, in a bid to prepare for life after the Brazilian star, United are now looking to Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz.

Manchester United look to Douglas Luiz to replace Casemiro
The 26-year-old is a proven Premier League talent after thriving at Aston Villa before his move to Italy, being labelled as a “set-piece king” be The Athletic.
Now, Give Me Sport has revealed that Luiz is firmly on United’s shortlist, with his play as a box-to-box midfielder giving the potential to play alongside Manuel Ugarte as Casemiro has.
He also fits INEOS’ recruitment profile being 26-years-old, allowing the Juventus man to have a good few years at Old Trafford.
Given his failed move to Juve, it’s understood The Old Lady are keen to offload him this summer which United are hoping to make the most of.
