Joshua Zirkzee has had a rocky start to his Manchester United career since arriving from Bologna last summer.

The 24-year-old joined The Red Devils under the leadership of Erik ten Hag, however, reports soon emerged suggesting that ten Hag was against signing the attacking star.

However, it didn’t take long for Zirkzee to grab his first goal for United, showing a promising debut appearance off the bench to score the winner in The Red Devils’ opening Premier League game against Fulham.

Unfortunately however it took 12 more league games to see the attacker add to his goal tally, when he finally scored again, grabbing a brace against Everton.

Throughout the season, Zirkzee only registered seven goals and three assists in 49 games, averaging at 46 minutes per game in an underwhelming debut season.

Since then, United have signed Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko to revitalise their attack, all stepping above Zirkzee in Ruben Amorim’s pecking order.

That said, Amorim and his coaching staff are impressed with the Dutch striker, rejecting any plans to sell the attacker this summer, seeing him having potential to grow in Amorim’s system.

Sam C has now taken to X to suggest that higher-ups at Carrington believe he has the ability to match new signing Matheus Cunha, bringing even more strength to Amorim’s attack.

As such, Joshua Zirkzee has no plans of leaving Old Trafford, wanting to make his time at United a successful stint, being involved in Amorim’s rebuild project to restore United to their former glories.
