Manchester United’s transfer business has been busy as Ruben Amorim looks to streamline his squad ahead of a demanding season.

With less than ten days left before the transfer window slams shut, the Red Devils are still juggling negotiations over fringe players while keeping one eye on potential reinforcements.

Amorim has already made it clear that the club will not carry passengers, and anyone unwilling to fight for a place will be moved on.

That urgency has placed a renewed focus on one of the most drawn-out sagas of the summer, with United now taking matters into their own hands.

Another twist has emerged in the future of Jadon Sancho, who continues to be linked with a switch away from Old Trafford after falling out of favour.

It was reported that Roma and United reached an agreement over a transfer fee for the winger, only for negotiations to hit a standstill over an £8.6 million commission demanded by Sancho’s representatives.

Corriere dello Sport now reveal that United have promised to contribute to this so-called ‘million-dollar’ request in the form of a severance package, desperate to end the impasse.

Even with that hurdle seemingly cleared, the deal remains complicated.

Roma are willing to offer wages close to what Jadon Sancho currently earns, but the 25-year-old is said to be stalling, with suggestions he is holding out for improved terms.

The report also claims the England international is eyeing a late approach from a Champions League club, hoping to spark interest before the window closes.

For United, the clock is ticking, and they are determined not to be lumbered with a high-earning player who has no future under Amorim.

The club see this as a final opportunity to recoup some value before Sancho’s stock plummets further.

From the player’s perspective, staying in Manchester would almost certainly spell limited minutes and a damaging blow to his hopes of forcing his way into England’s squad for next year’s FIFA World Cup.

Both sides now know a resolution is essential.
