Manchester United have just been handed a major blow in their attempts to offload unwanted winger, Jadon Sancho.

The former England international has been a member of the club’s “bomb squad”, set to be a priority sale this summer.

However, Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Sancho has now rejected a move to AS Roma.

The Italian side were reportedly front-runners for his signature, with their director travelling to England today to try and get a deal across the line.

However, Jadon Sancho has reportedly decided to turn down the Serie A side, marking the second lifeline to move to Italy collapsing.

Earlier in the transfer window, Sancho was looking set to move to Turin to join Juventus, however the hefty commissioning fee being demanded by his agent saw the deal with Juve collapse.

It’s understood that the fee was also having an impact on the deal with Roma, however the Italian side were looking to overcome it with the help of Manchester United contributing to the fee.

United were reportedly willing to contribute to the commissioning fee from Sancho’s agent in a bid to get the deal across the line, finally removing the former Borussia Dortmund winger from their books.

Now, the concerns appear to be no more as the deal is off the table, with Roma looking to Chelsea’s Tyrique George instead.

Unfortunately this sends United back to drawing board as it was reported that they warned Jadon Sancho and his agent that they would look at activating the extension clause in his contract to force a move this summer, preventing him leaving for free next year.

Now, The Red Devils will need to find another suitor for the former England international, with links to Turkey previously surfacing.
