Manchester United have been busy this summer in the transfer market, completing four key signings so far.
They have overhauled their attack with a completely new front three, bringing in Mateus Cunha, Brian Mbeumo, and most recently Benjamin Sesko.
Additionally, United have finalised the signing of Diego Leon, who was originally acquired in January but has now officially joined the first-team squad.
However, under the leadership of Ineos, United are not just focusing on first-team recruitment, they are also changing their approach by investing in youth talents to create a clear pathway to the senior squad and potentially save costs long-term.
This strategy is already evident through last year’s signings of Chido Obi, Sekou Kone and Aiden Heaven, as well as this summer’s additions of Harley Emsden-James from Southampton and Enzo Kana-Biyik, who has since gone out on loan to Lausanne.

INEOS are keen to continue their youth-focused strategy and are currently scouting Brazilian forward Ricardo Mathias as part of their long-term vision.
According to Globo, United sent a scout to watch the 19-year-old during Internacional’s 1-1 draw with Fluminense in the Copa do Brasil, where Mathias came on as a substitute but had limited impact on the game.
Mathias has made 17 appearances and scored three goals for Internacional so far in his senior career.
His contract runs until 2028 and includes a hefty €65 million release clause, though it is expected that United would seek to negotiate a fee significantly lower than that figure.
However, with ongoing pursuits of established players like Gianluigi Donnarumma and Carlos Baleba, it seems unlikely that United will make any major signings this summer.
Nevertheless, the club will continue to scout and invest in promising young talents like Mathias, aiming to build a strong foundation for the future.
