Manchester United will look to bolster their ranks of defenders this summer.
Injuries suffered by Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Diogo Dalot, just to name a few, have provided Ruben Amorim with selection headaches since his arrival in November.
Absences in the wide areas have proved especially prominent, with Shaw playing just 290 minutes of football this season.

Noussair Mazraoui has provided some solace, with the Moroccan offering a reliable and consistent presence on the right side for United since his arrival from Bayern Munich last summer.
And the signing of Patrick Dorgu in January has supplied relief to the left side in the absence of Shaw.
Could Manchester United move for Dumfries?
United will look to bring in a further option this summer, though, and according to TuttoMercatoWeb, a move for impressive full-back Denzel Dumfries could be on the cards, with United following the 29-year-old.
The Dutch defender has come along leaps and bounds since his move to Inter Milan in 2021, establishing himself as the Italian giant’s first-choice right-back and among Europe’s best defenders.

Dumfries’ performance in Inter’s first leg meeting with Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday likely blew away interested spectators.
The Dutchman emerged from the match – which ended 3-3 – with two goals and an assist.
His first goal was the pick of the bunch, an acrobatic finish to turn in from Francesco Acerbi’s header.
Inter will be not be keen to let go of Dumfries in the summer, with United likely required to offer a huge figure to tempt the Serie A club into a sale.
If a move did materialise, however, it would certainly present a coup for Amorim’s team, with the player’s attacking nature fitting perfectly into the manager’s system.
