Manchester United’s summer transfer window continues to disappoint, with the club missing out on high-profile targets in recent weeks.
Liam Delap, who had been of serious interest to United, ended up joining Chelsea.
Viktor Gyokeres, another top target touted for a reunion with Ruben Amorim, opted to join Arsenal instead.
All while a potential deal for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo has also slowed down.

Brentford have increased their asking price for the attacker, leaving fans in further frustration.
With no Champions League football to offer, United were always expected to struggle this summer – as some expected.
One player repeatedly linked to Old Trafford in recent months is Ademola Lookman.
It became apparent that United were preparing to enter discussions with his camp.
Although as of now, nothing concrete has developed on that front.
Meanwhile, Gianluca Di Marzio’s report states that Inter Milan are pushing ahead with a move for Lookman and are ready to table a formal £35 million (€40 million) bid.
The Nigerian is considered the top attacking target for Chivu’s side, who have already been in contact with Atalanta to discuss terms.

Despite Atalanta demanding at least £43 million (€50 million), Inter are not willing to go higher than their current offer.
A valuation which they believe is in line with a verbal promise made to the player last summer.
Lookman has already approved the move.
Inter are keen to avoid any delay in order to prevent being drawn into a prolonged saga.
If talks drag on, Inter may turn to backup options such as Jadon Sancho or Christopher Nkunku.
However their priority remains firmly on signing Lookman.
Di Marzio reports that Atalanta themselves are interested in Nico Gonzalez too, should Lookman depart.
A move that could also indirectly impact United’s own summer strategy.
