Ruben Amorim has been searching for players to strengthen his attacking team all summer long, as is well known.
Given that Manchester United scored 44 Premier League goals last season—a record low for the Red Devils—it should not be surprising that Amorim’s top priority this summer is finding a new number nine.
The signings of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo will help the attack but the search for a striker continues.
One name that has been linked to a move to the Red Devils is Hugo Ekitike.

After his loan move last season was made permanent in the summer for almost £14 million, the Eintracht Frankfurt forward scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists in 48 appearances for the Bundesliga team.
Manchester United enquired about Ekitike in recent weeks but to no avail.
It has now been confirmed he will be joining their rivals instead.
As per Fabrizio Romano via X, Liverpool has reached an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt, reaching close to £82 million.

The French striker has agreed to a six-year deal with the English giants.
This will be seen as a massive loss for Ruben Amorim’s side as yet another top target will be missed out.
Ekitike excels in quick attacking transitions with his forward runs and his accuracy in dribbling with the ball at his feet.
He can also do well in tight areas when his team is playing against a low block.
His height also helps him in aerial battles, making him a perfect fit for Arne Slot’s Liverpool side.
