Since joining Manchester United from Watford in 2023, Harry Amass has been a persistent presence on the team’s first-team roster.

The gifted left-back, who is presently playing for United’s U21 team but has frequently been with the first team squad, is widely considered one of the nation’s best full-back prospects.

Amass made his first-team debut last season under Ruben Amorim in the Premier League.

Expectations have been high for the English defender due to his high potential.

Amass is renowned for his poise when in possession and for his ability to drive play from the flanks and retain the ball.

He is useful in both the attacking and build-up phases because of his versatility, which enables him to either stay wide and overlap or invert into central areas.

However the decision was made for him to be sent on loan for the upcoming season to get game time.

Patrick Dorgu is the current first choice in the left wing-back role and new signing Diego Leon is also competing for a spot.

As first reported by Nathan Sat via X, CentreDevils can also confirm that Harry Amass is set to seal a move to Championship side Sheffield Wednesday in the coming hours and days.

Over 12 clubs wanted Amass but the club and the player’s camp felt Sheffield Wednesday was the best move for his development.

There is no buy or obligation option included and it will be just a straight loan.

Sheffield Wednesday have been planning a loan move all summer and they will be delighted it is finally set to be completed.

The Reds see this loan spell as a vital stepping stone in his career progression, making it clear that his long-term development remains a priority.

This loan pursuit fits into Manchester United’s broader strategy of nurturing young prospects through carefully chosen moves, aiming to convert potential into proven performance.
