Gianluigi Donnarumma has moved a step closer to leaving PSG with a move to Manchester on the cards.
Manchester United have been linked to Donnarumma throughout the summer, as a new goalkeeper seemed likely amid the club’s major rebuild for Ruben Amorim.
However, local rivals Manchester City have also joined the race, looking for a long-term replacement for Ederson.
Whilst The Citizens have already signed James Trafford from Burnley, Gianluigi Donnarumma has the ability to come in and make an instant impact, similarly to why he was considered as a replacement for Andre Onana.
With the talented shot-stopper’s relationship with PSG collapsing, the Premier League has emerged as the most likely destination for Donnarumma.
Today the Italy goalkeeper recently penned a heartfelt goodbye message to the PSG fans, confirming his departure, with news emerging his next club is nearly lined up.
Now, L’Equipe has reported that Donnarumma has already talked to Pep Guardiola and reportedly has an agreement in place to join Manchester City.
With Ederson on the brink of a move to Galatasaray, City have now moved for the talented goalkeeper, beating Manchester United to their target.
However, it’s been reported that United are looking to back Onana for another season, with some impressive young talents coming up through the ranks.
Royal Antwerp’s Senne Lammens is also still on the cards, having green lit a move to Old Trafford already, wanting to join Ruben Amorim’s team.
Whilst he isn’t the same calibre as Donnarumma, Lammens would be more of a back-up to Onana, ready to step in if needed in the same way Altay Bayindir has done.
As such, it’s unlikely that Lammens will be signed unless Bayindir goes, leading to the club relying on the continual development of their talented youngsters for the future of the club.
