Manchester United’s search for a goalkeeper continues to linger in the background of their transfer activity.
Despite it appearing Andre Onana is to remain at the club, the hierarchy have been keen to explore other options in the market.
Senne Lammens of Antwerp has been strongly considered to join in a £17m deal, with the 23-year-old seen as a talent who could both challenge and complement the current goalkeeping department at Old Trafford.
But United are not alone in their interest, with Galatasaray also firmly in the race and looking to pounce.

According to The Daily Mail’s report, the Turkish side have outbid United for Lammens, though the player himself is understood to only want a move to Old Trafford.
That stance has kept the deal alive, but United’s juggling of multiple other transfers has complicated their ability to strike quickly before the deadline.
The situation has left the move in the balance, despite the Red Devils fending off late competition until now.
Sources insist a deal for Lammens would not impact Onana’s future at Old Trafford, with the Cameroonian set to return in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup tie at Grimsby.
But with Galatasaray moving fast and aggressively for the Belgian keeper, it only emphasises the kind of decisive transfer-market action United have struggled to replicate in recent years.
Lammens’ background meanwhile, only adds intrigue to his potential arrival.
He began his career as a striker at Belgian junior clubs RC Bambrugge and FCV Dender before switching to goalkeeping.
His most famous moment came in December 2019, when he scored a dramatic 95th-minute equaliser for Club Brugge against Real Madrid in the UEFA Youth League, heading home from a corner to seal progression for the Under-19s.
“Every few months, I still look back at those images. Pure goosebumps,” Lammens said of the goal.
