Manchester United are enduring a tough summer window, with the Red Devils prioritising the signing of a new striker to lead the line next season.

Rasmus Hojlund’s struggles have forced United to explore fresh options, with the 22-year-old managing just four Premier League goals last season and failing to assert himself physically.

As a result, names like Hugo Ekitike, Victor Osimhen, and Viktor Gyokeres have all been discussed internally.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe remains determined not to repeat last year’s attacking issues, where United netted just 44 league goals.

The recent blow of missing out on Liam Delap, who instead joined Chelsea, has only increased the urgency to secure a reliable goalscorer.

Now, United could be set to miss out on another forward target as Fulham prepare a formal bid for Genk’s Tolu Arokodare, that’s according to The Sun.

The 24-year-old Nigerian striker finished as the Belgian Pro League’s top scorer last season with 21 goals.

He has attracted interest from Manchester United in recent weeks – and recently spoke on his desire to play for the Red Devils.

Arokodare’s physical presence and penalty box instincts have caught the attention of multiple clubs including the likes of AC Milan.

However, Fulham have already held talks with his representatives and are confident of striking a deal.

The Genk striker is valued at £15-£20 million and is keen on a Premier League move this summer, which has only strengthened the Cottagers’ pursuit.

Marco Silva is eager to add more firepower to his attack, with Raul Jimenez the only Fulham player to hit double digits in the league last season.

United are nearing a move for Bryan Mbeumo, following Matheus Cunha’s arrival.

However, Arokodare’s looming switch to Craven Cottage may cause another frustration internally as the hierarchy continue to look at ways of improving Amorim’s squad.
