Manchester United are actively working on plans to strengthen their attack this summer.

The club has made finding a new striker a top priority, with Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres currently leading the list of candidates.

While Osimhen has long been admired at Old Trafford, many question whether United will be willing to meet the forward’s hefty wage demands.

Gyokeres, meanwhile, offers a more attainable option and has the added advantage of being a familiar figure to Ruben Amorim.

Amorim who of course, who managed him at Sporting CP.

Finally, Liam Delap who has had a breakout season at Ipswich Town despite relegation.

Delap remains on United’s shortlist, as a long-term option deemed not so expensive.

Now, a former Everton striker has emerged as a surprise addition to the shortlist.

Moise Kean new name to emerge on Manchester United shortlist

Moise Kean, who struggled in the Premier League with just four goals in 37 appearances for the Toffees during the 2019/20 season, is once again attracting interest from English football.

According to reports from Footy Mercato, Manchester United are among the clubs closely monitoring the 25-year-old after his sensational resurgence at Fiorentina.

Kean has enjoyed the most prolific season of his career to date.

He has netted 17 goals in 30 Serie A matches and a further six in the Europa Conference League and Coppa Italia.

His tally of 24 goals in all competitions puts him level with club icons like Luca Toni and Alberto Gilardino.

Kean was named Serie A Player of the Month in November after netting five goals in four games.

Beyond his finishing, Kean has impressed with his overall game, averaging 3.1 shots per match and completing 81% of his passes in the final third.

He has matured on and off the pitch, becoming a leader in Fiorentina’s frontline under Raffaele Palladino.

Kean has become a striker who has lived up to the expectation, opening the scoring in key fixtures.

This form has reignited interest from Europe’s elite, with Bayern Munich also tracking him closely as per Footy Mercato’s report.

Signed from Juventus for €13m in 2024, Kean is under contract at Fiorentina until 2029.

He has a €50m release clause that will be active from July 1st to 15th.

Fiorentina hope to keep him and are working on securing Albert Guðmundsson as a backup plan.

While also monitoring other Serie A forwards like Medhi Taremi, Tammy Abraham and Artem Dovbyk.

As for the Red Devils, Kean is now viewed as a strong candidate.

Especially if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

In which case Gyokeres and Osimhen could become more difficult to land.

United are understood to view the Italian as a more affordable and potentially profitable option.

His name will be heavily discussed once the window opens.
