Fleetwood Town, who play in EFL League Two, have started the 2025-26 season successfully earning eleven points in six games.

Their positive start follows a busy period of summer recruitment that has seen the Cods sign seven players.

Among the names recruited is Denver Hume, formerly of Grimsby Town, and Ched Evans, formerly of Preston North End.

These players have all been signed with the aim of improving the Cods’ squad.

Furthermore, Pete Wild’s side will be aiming to improve on the last couple of seasons that have seen them relegated to League Two and have seen finish 14th last season.

With the correct manager, support, and players, this aim arguably is achievable.

However, of the seven players signed, none have been in a winger position.

Now, it looks likely that Pete Wild’s side will sign a winger before the transfer window closes tomorrow.

According to BBC Sport, Fleetwood Town are closing in on the signing of Manchester United youngster Ethan Ennis.

The deal would be on a loan basis with it likely to last the whole season.

Previously, Ennis had been with EFL League One side Doncaster Rovers during their title winning EFL League Two campaign last season.

Whilst with Rovers, the forward played 17 times but was unable to score any goals.

The 20-year-old was amongst a number of names left out of United’s 2-1 Premier League 2 derby victory over Manchester City.

So far this season, the forward has been in excellent form scoring two times in two games.

These performances attracted the interest of other clubs apart from Fleetwood including Plymouth Argyle.

If Ethan Ennis does join Fleetwood Town, he will be experiencing League Two football for the second time.

But, this time round, he will arguably be hoping for more success.
