Manchester United is reportedly keen on bolstering their left-back position, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS prioritising this area in the ongoing transfer window.

The need for reinforcements has been underscored by the injury struggles of Luke Shaw, who missed a significant part of the 2023/24 season, and Tyrell Malacia, who was sidelined for the entire campaign due to a pre-season injury.

Among the potential targets for United is Kadioglu, who impressed during Euro 2024, emerging as one of Turkey’s standout players before their elimination by the Netherlands in the quarter-finals.

Reports from Turkey have previously suggested that United holds a “serious interest” in the Fenerbahce star and are planning to engage in discussions with his representatives to finalise a deal.

Further reports indicate that United is leading the race to sign the 24-year-old left-back, who has also attracted interest from clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Wolves, and another unnamed English club.

Despite this, new Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on retaining Kadioglu and is expected to resist any attempts to sell him during the summer.

United’s determination to secure Kadioglu has been highlighted by recent information from Turkish newspaper Sabah, which claims that the club has made a €25 million (£21 million) offer for the dynamic full-back. However, Fenerbahce is reportedly holding out for €35 million, a figure that has “doubled” following Kadioglu’s impressive performances at Euro 2024.

The pursuit of Kadioglu is a testament to United’s commitment to strengthening their squad and addressing vulnerabilities that have hampered their performance. As the transfer window progresses, it remains to be seen whether United can meet Fenerbahce’s valuation and secure the services of the highly-rated left-back.
