Manchester United’s summer overhaul is getting into full swing as the club are looking to sign both Matheus Cunha and Liam Delap whilst also looking for a replacement for Andre Onana.

However, The Red Devils are also searching for new midfielders as Christian Eriksen is leaving at the end of his contract and the club are open to selling Casemiro.

As such, United have been looking to the sensational Sunderland duo of Jobe Bellingham and Chris Rigg, whilst also looking further afield.

Atlanta’s Ederson remains on their long-term shortlist, whilst they’ve also been looking to Real Betis’ Johnny Cardoso.

Cardoso has been having a great debut season with the LaLiga side after moving from Brazilian club Internacional.

In 40 games for Betis, Cardoso has grabbed four goals and an assist as his holding midfielder role has helped the club fight for European football next year, currently in sixth in LaLiga, whilst also keeping the club active in the UEFA Conference League.

As such, United are looking to the 23-year-old as a potential upgrade in midfield, however, a decision won’t be made about the midfielder for the next few weeks.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed with Give Me Sport that Betis are concentrating on their Semi-Final in the UEFA Conference League before making a decision on his future.

The reporter commented: “Nothing really concrete at the moment with Cardoso, decisions will be made later as full focus for Betis now is on the Conference League.”

As such, United will have to wait until finish their Semi-Final match-ups with Fiorentina to see if the door will be open for discussions on his availability.
