The future of Antony is still up in the air with only nine days left of the summer transfer window, and no concrete links to any one club.
Manchester United are still pushing to offload the winger and the rest of the “bomb squad” who have no place in Ruben Amorim’s squad.
Antony’s United career was seemingly over in the winter when he joined Real Betis on loan for the remainder of the season, finding his form once more.
The Brazil international had fallen into a slump at Old Trafford, failing to live up to his £82 million price tag which saw him move from Ajax in 2022.
For United, Antony registered 12 goals and five assists in 96 games, nearly matching this in only 26 games for Real Betis, having grabbed nine goals and five assists.
As such, the LaLiga side are keen to bring their star man back to the club, with Fabrizio Romano giving an update.
Taking to his YouTube channel, Romano commented: “What I’m hearing is that Betis, behind the scenes, are still working on that. They are still pushing for Antony’s return.”
He continued: “Betis are in conversations, Betis are in talks, Betis are speaking to the agents of the player, to the player himself, trying to find a solution with Man United and with Antony.
“Obviously, financially, it’s not an easy deal for Betis to keep Antony, but the fantastic loan spell he had there is a factor.
“Because it’s a World Cup year, Antony wants, obviously, to go to the World Cup with Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil. And so, they are insisting from Betis.
“They are trying to find the right structure, the right solution, but Betis are pushing to try to bring back Antony from Manchester United.”
