Manchester United are enduring one of their worst-ever Premier League seasons.
They sit 15th in the table after a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham.
Now, their summer rebuild has taken a hit, with Fabrizio Romano confirming Christian Eriksen is set to leave.
The veteran midfielder will depart when his contract expires in June.

Fabrizio Romano posted on X: “Christian Eriksen will soon start exploring options for his next chapter.
“He’s set to leave Man United at the end of the season.”
“His contract won’t be extended and Eriksen will be a free agent in the summer.”

Eriksen’s exit is not a surprise, but it does little to ease Ruben Amorim’s rebuilding task.
United need to overhaul their squad, but their biggest challenge remains raising funds.
With Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions in place, Amorim has already warned of difficulties ahead.
“You know the rules of Financial Fair Play (FFP), we have a problem at the moment.
“But my focus is on that and not the other things,” he said.

Eriksen’s departure frees up wages but generates no transfer income.
United still face the possibility of selling a key player to fund new arrivals.
Fan favourites like Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo could be at risk if major sales are needed.
United will obviously look to reinforce their midfield in the summer.
With both Eriksen and Casemiro set to leave, two key spaces will open up.
Amorim will be hoping for two signings who instantly improve the starting XI.
United must strike the right balance between young talent and experienced stars.
