Manchester United are now one step closer to officially unveiling their new signing, Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.

The impressive young goalkeeper has shone in the Belgian league, drawing significant attention from not only the Red Devils, but also the likes of Manchester City and Galatasaray.

However, the young shot-stopper only had eyes for United, making a move to Old Trafford his priority. As a result, agreeing personal terms for the 23-year-old was no challenge for United, with the Belgian keeper greenlighting the move earlier in the transfer window, as revealed by CentreDevils.

Ruben Amorim’s side have struggled in goal for some time now, with Andre Onana being consistently problematic, and Altay Bayindir being inconsistent in his cover, failing to be a reliable back-up keeper.

As such, CentreDevils can reveal that Lammen’s intention is to fight for the first-choice goalkeeper slot at Old Trafford, now on the verge of being an official United player.

United have agreed a £18 million (€21 million) transfer fee, plus £3.5 million (€4 million) in add-ons for the move to go ahead, with no sell-on clause included

CentreDevils can also reveal that Senne Lammens has now completed his medical and only has his contract to sign and media work left to complete until he can be officially announced as a Red Devil, giving a boost to Amorim’s squad.

So far Bayindir has started each of the three Premier League fixtures this season under Amorim, seeing the Red Devils lose 1-0 to Arsenal, draw 1-1 to Fulham and win 3-2 over Burnley, however is yet to keep a clean sheet.

As for Onana, he started in United’s embarrassing 2-2 draw with Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup, with the League Two side ultimately knocking United out of the competition in penalties.

As such, the 23-year-old is hoping to make the most of the struggling situations of the United duo to establish himself as a strong contender for the top spot in goal.
