Real Betis and Manchester United agreed a loan deal for Antony in January of 2025.
Antony excelled during this six-month loan period in Spain.
He had scored 12 goals in 96 appearances for United but has only scored once in the Premier League since April 2023.
Antony started brightly under former United manager Erik ten Hag – also his previous boss at Ajax – by scoring three goals in his opening three league games.
However, after failing to live up to his transfer fee, Antony has struggled for first-team opportunities and this season has featured in just 13 of United’s 33 games in all competitions.
Antony impressed on loan with Betis during the second half of last season, racking up nine goals and five assists in 26 games across all competitions, and has made it clear that his focus is solely on sealing a return to Pellegrini’s side this summer.
Now, we can reveal an update on this deal.

CentreDevils can exclusively reveal that Real Betis are advancing in talks with Manchester United for Antony.
We can reveal that Antony has turned down numerous Saudi proposals and he is pushing for the Real Betis move only.
A new offer is expected from Betis to the Red Devils imminently, with personal terms verbally agreed with Antony.
New players have already joined the team as a result of the summer transfer window, with United juggling new arrivals with the pressing need to reduce an overburdened roster.
The fitness of important players making a comeback from injury has garnered interest, but there has also been curiosity about individuals whose futures are still up in the air.
Antony is currently part of the “Bomb Squad” and is training by himself in Carrington.
A move to Betis seems to be edging closer if both clubs can find an agreement.
