Manchester United are facing another pivotal few weeks in the transfer window, with several players’ futures still up in the air and the board under pressure to balance squad harmony with financial stability.

Ruben Amorim has been firm in his stance on keeping young talents central to his project, but not all players share the same vision for their future.

Amid the tightening grip of PSR and the club’s urgent need to fund new arrivals, unexpected transfer twists are emerging.

United’s focus has been firmly on securing key targets like Benjamin Sesko, who CentreDevils revealed looks set to fly to Manchester soon, while also negotiating exits for names like Antony and Jadon Sancho continue.

But now, it seems one of the club’s brightest young stars could be plotting an exit of his own — and to a Premier League rival.

Alejandro Garnacho, one of United’s most exciting academy products in recent years, has been linked with a move to Chelsea.

CentreDevils can exclusively reveal that the London club have held initial talks with Garnacho’s camp about a potential deal.

While it’s still early days and no formal offer has been made, the fact that discussions have taken place has raised eyebrows at Old Trafford.

Alejandro Garnacho himself is said to be open to the move — and has reportedly made it clear that he wants Chelsea.

The Argentine winger enjoyed a breakout season under Erik ten Hag but did not carry that momentum into Amorim’s early tenure last season.

The situation now depends on whether Chelsea decide to advance negotiations, and whether United — bound by PSR constraints — choose to cash in on a player who Ruben Amorim does not want.

For now, United are staying silent, but with Amorim reportedly keen to move Garnacho on following a supposed feud, the club may see this as an opportunity to cash in and reinvest rather than retain a player no longer in the manager’s plans.
