The goalkeeping issue at Manchester United has garnered a lot of attention from the media this summer.

After yet another terrible match against Grimbsy Town, Andre Onana has continued to struggle into the new season.

In yesterday’s match against Burnley, Altay Bayindir committed yet another error and cost the Red Devils a goal against Arsenal.

Senne Lammens has been close to a move to the Red Devils for the past month now.

However, a move seems to be in jeopardy now, with the clubs still not reaching an agreement.

The Red Devils have turned their attention to Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez.

Formal approaches have already been made earlier today.

And now the deal is advancing further.

Emiliano Martinez has agreed to personal terms with Manchester United, with the two clubs already having made contact, reported by Fabrizio Romano via X.

Martinez is a concrete option in case the Senne Lammens deal doesn’t happen.

Since joining Aston Villa in 2020, Martinez has made a name for himself as one of the Premier League’s best players.

In his 201 games, he has had numerous outstanding performances, including winning the league’s Save of the Season award in 2023–2024.

The World Cup winner has yet to win a trophy at the club level, but he is still a symbol of composure under duress, which United badly lacked the previous season.

A deal for Martinez is progressing and seems more likely it will happen now.

This could mean a departure for Altay Bayindir or Andre Onana as we enter the final days of the window.
