Manchester United’s summer overhaul is already beginning to take shape under Ruben Amorim as the new manager assesses who will be part of his long-term vision.

With multiple players out of contract and others expected to be sold, United are bracing for a major reshuffle to help the club challenge for top honours again.

One area expected to see significant changes is defence, where injuries and inconsistency have plagued the squad throughout the 2024/25 season.

United have already drawn up a shortlist of defensive reinforcements, while also preparing to offload those no longer central to the project.

As part of that process, one long-serving Red Devil is now preparing to say his goodbyes at Old Trafford.

Victor Lindelof is attracting interest from as many as eight clubs ahead of a summer move, with Manchester United deciding not to renew his contract, CaughtOffside reports.

The 30-year-old Sweden international, who joined United from Benfica in 2017, will become a free agent at the end of the current campaign.

Despite being a steady and professional figure during his time at the club, Victor Lindelof has slipped down the pecking order and is no longer seen as a key figure under Amorim.

Fulham, Everton, West Ham, and Wolves have all reportedly made contact over a possible free transfer, while Lindelöf is said to favour staying in England.

Juventus and Inter Milan are also keeping tabs on the situation, alongside his former club Benfica, who are keen on a potential reunion.

Victor Lindelof admitted that talks about his future are inevitable, and he plans to engage in discussions with those involved.

“I’m very comfortable at United,” Lindelof commented, as per the PA News Agency.

Although he never fully established himself as an automatic starter at Old Trafford, Lindelof remained a useful squad option and is expected to attract strong interest due to his experience and availability on a free deal.

Ruben Amorim, meanwhile, is believed to be targeting younger, more aggressive defenders as he looks to reshape United’s backline.

While fans may feel some nostalgia seeing Victor Lindelof leave, many will likely support the decision if it paves the way for the kind of rebuild United desperately need.

A Premier League stay looks most likely for Lindelof, but United supporters will hope he avoids strengthening a direct rival.
