Manchester United are set to have a second chance at signing one of their midfield targets from last season.
The Red Devils are still looking to reinforce their midfield after signing Manuel Ugarte last summer, with Christian Eriksen having left the club at the end of his contract, and Casemiro needing a long-term replacement.
Whilst Brighton and Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba has emerged as the top target for United, The Red Devils may look to pursue him at a later date, with other targets like Adam Wharton also resurfacing if Baleba can’t be signed.
The Seagulls put a price of £120 million on their star man, trying to ward off United, however, The Red Devils are now being offered Marseille’s Adrien Rabiot for considerably less.
Fabrizio Romano has taken to YouTube to explain that Rabiot has been dropped from the Marseille squad, with Roberto De Zerbi listing the veteran midfielder for sale.
It’s understood that the Ligue 1 side want between £13 million (€15 million) and £17.5 million (€20 million) for the France international.
Now, Rabiot’s agent is set to offer the star to several clubs who he’s been linked with previously, including Manchester United.
Romano commented that he’s not aware of any concrete negotiations for Adrien Rabiot at this time, with the focus still on younger players to bring the intensity Ruben Amorim is looking for in the middle of the park.
As such, it’s unknown how United will react to the news, especially with no links to the midfielder since Amorim his been in charge, previously being shortlisted for the Erik ten Hag system at Old Trafford.
