Viktor Gyokeres has been linked with a move to England for the majority of this summer’s transfer window following his impressive 2024-25 Liga Portugal season.
This impressive display saw the 27-year-old score 39 times, and grabbed seven assists as Sporting CP went on to claim a third Liga Portugal title in five years.

This impressive display attracted the interest of many English clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal.
But, it has been the latter that emerged as the most likely destination for the striker this summer with the Sweden international agreeing personal terms with the North London side.

Now, David Ornstein has revealed that Arsenal are in the process of completing their move for Viktor Gyokeres following the North London side taking the final steps in negotiations over the weekend.
Furthermore, it has been reported that The Gunners have lined up a five year deal for the striker, securing his long-term future at the Emirates.
With this news being revealed and with Mikel Arteta wanting the striker to join the squad as soon as possible, Arsenal will be looking to move quickly to complete the signing of Gyokeres.
If the 27-year-old makes the move to the Emirates, the Swedish striker could make his Premier League debut for Arsenal at Old Trafford next month.
Unfortunately for Amorim, this won’t be the reunion he had in mind as The Red Devils have seemingly missed out on yet another one of their key striker targets.
