Manchester United are looking at the potential of facing the rest of the season without their talented winger Alejandro Garnacho.

The Argentine has struggled to find a regular place in Ruben Amorim’s squad despite being a routine starter for Erik ten Hag.

Amorim’s new system is the main reason for this, relying on attacking wing-backs over outright wingers.

As such, Garnacho has become more of an impact substitute, having to move more centrally in attack or become a left-wing-back to get more game time.

In a lifeline to retain his preferred position on the left-wing, Napoli and Chelsea have both been considering a move for the Argentine.

Whilst Napoli have pulled out of a deal, Chelsea look to be progressing.

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca recently silenced any links between the London-based club and Garnacho, saying: “I’m happy with what we have. On the right, it’s Neto and Noni. On the left, we have Sancho. We had Misha but he’s not with us. Tyrique [George] is an option.”

However, this could well have been a bluff as Manchester World has reported that Chelsea are looking at a mega offer for the talented youngster.

Rich Fay reports that Chelsea are considering a bid of £60 million to test United’s resolve in retaining their winger unless a significant offer is put on the table.

With United’s financial pressures, the club may have to give way to their £75 million valuation of Garnacho, especially as any fee received would be pure profit for the United academy graduate.

It’s unknown when Chelsea are likely to submit their offer, however with only a week left of the transfer window, they’ll have to move quick to secure their man.
