Manchester United’s summer has been dominated by big-money signings, rising prospects, and a tactical reshuffle under Ruben Amorim.

Midfield and forward reinforcement remain high on the agenda — especially after the club secured an agreement in principle for Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig for a fee of £73.8 million overall, comprised of a £66.4 million transfer fee with £7.4 million in add-ons.

Amorim’s focus on reshaping the attacking unit signals a clear intent to build around a core striker, leaving fringe squad members to reassess their roles.

Against that backdrop, Alejandro Garnacho, once viewed as one of United’s brightest young stars, finds himself at a crossroads amid growing friction with the coaching staff.

Now, it seems the winger is poised for fresh pastures — and his destination is beginning to crystallise.

Chelsea have stepped up negotiations with Manchester United for the transfer of Alejandro Garnacho, according to The Athletic.

What began as casual contact has escalated, and the 21-year-old is expecting to move to Stamford Bridge.

Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly ruled out any other options this summer — it’s either a move to Chelsea or staying at Old Trafford.

Garnacho, who was once urged by Amorim, in front of teammates, to find a new club, now appears ready for a new chapter.

The winger had already been permitted to report to pre-season training late — one of five players granted that exception — a sign of his tenuous spot in the squad.

His public frustrations following United’s Europa League final defeat, where he complained playing only 20 minutes despite featuring in every round, further signalled his discontent.

Bayern Munich have also admired Garnacho’s potential — but this summer, the only route for him seems to be west London.

A reported price of £70 million has been communicated, aligning with Chelsea’s investment in under-the-radar wing talent.

Should the deal go through, Garnacho will become the second United winger to join Chelsea in as many seasons, following Jadon Sancho’s temporary switch last term.

For United, the move would drive home the message that under Amorim, only committed players fit the forward blueprint.
