Manchester United are continuing with their attempts to make some key sales this summer, with their “bomb squad” all listed for departure.

One member “bomb squad” is young winger Alejandro Garnacho, who has been demoted to individual training, having no place in Ruben Amorim’s squad.

The decision to demote Garnacho unfortunately comes from the public bust-up between him and the United manager following the Europa League final which United lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur.

Following the loss, the Argentina international undermined Amorim’s decision to bench the winger for the final game which saw United miss their chance to qualify for the Champions League.

The comments from Garnacho sparked frustration from Amorim, telling the United academy graduate that he needs to find a new club this summer.

Now, it’s looking like that club is most likely to be Chelsea, with The Blues linked to Garnacho since the winter transfer window when they were looking at a player-swap deal including Christopher Nkunku.

It’s understood that Garnacho was keen for the move back in January and has now set his heart on a move to Stamford Bridge to remain in the Premier League, having already agreed personal terms to join the club.

Now, Sky Sports has reported that Chelsea are determined to sign Alejandro Garnacho, even willing to wait until deadline day to get their man in a cut-price deal.

Speaking about the situation, Rob Jones explained: “They’re [Chelsea] confident they’ll get the layer [Alejandro Garnacho] and also confident they will get him underneath and quite a decent chunk underneath that £50 million mark.”

He went on to explain that the situation with Garnacho at Old Trafford and not being a part of Ruben Amorim’s plans is a key bargaining chip for Chelsea to use in their favour.

Rob Jones added: “They can be quite relaxed about this and leave it later and later into the window as they know Manchester United have a player that they want to get off their books.

“They don’t want to keep paying his wages, so the closer Chelsea can leave it to that September 1st deadline, the further down from £50 million you would think that they might be able to buy him for.”
