Alejandro Garnacho’s future at Manchester United has been clouded by uncertainty for several months.

The winger has frustrated sections of the fanbase with a series of questionable off-field choices, from being pictured in an Aston Villa shirt to liking social media posts pushing for his exit.

Those incidents, coupled with a lack of consistency on the pitch, have led many to believe a parting of ways could be on the horizon.

Now, the situation has reached a pivotal stage in the final weeks of the transfer window.

According to Fabrizio Romano for GiveMeSport, Chelsea have offered four players to Manchester United as part of a potential swap deal for Garnacho.

The Blues are said to have put forward Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Axel Disasi, and Renato Veiga as possible makeweights.

Both Nkunku and Jackson have recently been linked with moves to United, with Jackson even offered to United earlier this month.

However, United’s stance is clear – they want a straight cash deal to reinvest in other areas, despite admiring some of the names discussed.

Romano reports that Garnacho’s mind is made up, with Chelsea seen as the only destination he is willing to consider.

He has rejected approaches from Bayer Leverkusen, the Saudi Pro League, and Serie A, even after Napoli reignited interest following a failed January move.

The 21-year-old reportedly already has a contract agreed with Chelsea until June 2032 and is fully aware of Enzo Maresca’s plans for his development.

Negotiations between the clubs remain ongoing, with Chelsea valuing him at around £30m while United are holding firm at £50m.

For now, Garnacho is prepared to wait – even if it means being left completely out of the United project – until the two sides can find common ground.

Garnacho’s behaviour may well come as disappointment to United fans, although it only helps Ruben Amorim build the culture he desires.

Getting rid of the ‘bad eggs’ is a solid foundation towards building a positive and fresh culture in and around the club.
