Michael Olise has had a truly tremendous season this year despite missing a significant amount of games through hamstring injury.
The French winger has been a vital part of Crystal Palace’s Premier League campaign which saw them finish mid table in 10th place, their best finish since the 2014/15 season when they also came 10th.
This season, Olise’s impressive display saw him score 10 goals with 6 assists in only 19 games. This saw the Frenchman get his 90th appearance for the Eagles, so far netting 16 goals and grabbing 25 assists since joining Selhurst Park from Reading in 2021.
Having gone through the Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City youth teams, Olise found himself at Reading in the Under-18s team before being promoted to the senior squad in 2020.
After only a season and a half, the winger had done enough in his 73 appearances, helping Reading to 7th place in the 2020/21 Championship season, securing him a €9.3 million transfer to Crystal Palace.
It’s clear that Olise is an exciting prospect so is no surprise that many big name clubs have been scouting the player and are looking to sign him this summer.
Previously it’s been reported hat Manchester United have lead the race to sign the Frenchman’s signature, with the 22-year-old being a childhood fan of the Red Devils, however new reports are suggesting otherwise.
Academy Scoop on X have announced an exclusive that Chelsea are meeting with Olise’s representatives to sign a deal taking the winger to Stamford Bridge.
They continued to express that Chelsea are taking aggressive measures to secure Olise which is supported by his existing relationship with Joe Shields, Chelsea’s recruitment specialist.
It’s believed that the London club’s aggressive pursuit of Olise trying to conclude on a deal quickly is an active attempt to beat United to signing the exciting Frenchman.
Olise would fit well with United’s new recruitment policy of signing young players with further potential to rejuvenate the squad going forwards.
