Enzo Maresca has started life at Stamford Bridge as he means to go on, having already won two pieces of silverware for the Chelsea trophy cabinet.

At the end of last season, The Blues were victorious in the UEFA Conference League final over Real Betis, before going on to win the Club World Cup.

Now, after two games, Chelsea sit in fourth place in the Premier League following a goalless draw with Crystal Palace and a 5-1 win over West Ham United.

Despite the strong start to the season, Enzo Maresca is still looking to reinforce his squad.

The London-based side have been long-linked with a move for Manchester United outcast Alejandro Garnacho.

It’s understood that the Argentina international is determined to move to Stamford Bridge before deadline day, leaving his days Old Trafford behind.

However, Chelsea are also now considering recent United target Fermin Lopez from Barcelona.

David Ornstein has reported that Chelsea have had internal discussions regarding a move for Lopez and have since contacted the midfielder’s camp, however are yet to contact Barcelona.

Whilst it’s not known how Lopez feels about the offer, Chelsea and United reportedly already submitted bids for the talented youngster at the start of the summer.

The Premier League duo have been reported as submitting bids of £70 million for Fermin Lopez, and although Barca strongly considered the bids, they were vetoed by Hansi Flick.

It’s understood the Barcelona manager wanted to keep Lopez even if it meant not being able to make any other signings, with the midfielder also wanting to remain at Camp Nou.

As such, Chelsea may have to offer a mega-money deal to secure his move, which could jeopardise their mover for Alejandro Garnacho.
