Manchester United are looking to launch a massive squad overhaul this summer in a bid to clear out under-performing or costly players, creating space to sign new talent.

Already the club has identified Matheus Cunha, Liam Delap and Victor Osimhen as key attacking targets, whilst also searching for a replacement for Andre Onana in goal.

However, with the club’s financial struggles, sales are essential to generate the funds to remodel the squad in Ruben Amorim’s vision.

United have some players on loan which they’ll be looking to cash in on at the end of the season, with Jadon Sancho’s £25 million move to Chelsea, Aston Villa’s option to buy Marcus Rashford for £40 million and Real Betis wanting to retain Antony.

However, other stars like Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho would provide a massive financial boost to the club as products of the youth academy.

As such, The Daily Mail has reported that Chelsea are targeting both Garnacho and Mainoo in a bid to strengthen their squad.

The London-based side were linked to both individually in the winter transfer window, and continue to monitor the pair.

It’s recently been revealed that United are open to selling Garnacho to fund the £62.5 million release clause for Matheus Cunha.

However, with Kobbie Mainoo set to sign a new contract with United, it’s hard to believe they’ll be letting the youngster go, despite their financial struggles.
