Manchester United began their Premier League campaign with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal, leaving Ruben Amorim and his squad looking to quickly find their rhythm ahead of a busy fixture list.

The early season has already highlighted the need for leadership in midfield, as new and established players look to build cohesion under pressure.

Fans and pundits have closely watched Casemiro, whose experience is seen as central to United’s ambitions this season.

The Red Devils continue to balance building for the future with achieving immediate success, making the influence of senior players in the squad more important than ever.

Amid transfer speculation across Europe, United’s focus remains on extracting the best from their squad while planning carefully for potential departures.

Casemiro firmly believes Manchester United are on the right path to success, as he reiterates his happiness with life at Old Trafford.

The much-decorated midfielder started the opening game of the Premier League season, partnering captain Bruno Fernandes in the engine room against Arsenal, but was unable to help prevent an unfortunate 1-0 loss to the north Londoners.

A player whose qualities and aptitude have been praised by head coach Ruben Amorim, the 33-year-old has ignored any speculation over his future in the transfer gossip columns over the summer and is purely focused on helping the Reds get back to the top.

Despite the defeat on Sunday, he was in a positive mood when speaking after the game, as quoted by the official website.

“Manchester United always has to think about the victory,” he declared.

“I’m not going to say that losing is okay, we have to win.

“Manchester United always has to win.

“I think we have shown good moments, and we have played much better today, but we have to look for the victory. We are on the right path now.

“We have a good connection and that’s the path we are taking.

“It’s complicated,” he replied, when asked what has been lacking at United.

“Everyone can have an opinion. In the last few years, we have reached several finals, such as the Europa League [last season] and the thing missing is to win.

“Few clubs win these cups and we need to continue thinking about winning these trophies and to continue improving.”

In response to a question about proving people wrong by continuing to play in the Premier League, the Brazil international stressed how content he is and has no time for any speculation.

“I am very happy here,” he enthused.

“My family is happy here.

“I enjoy every day at Carrington and at Old Trafford. If people talk from the outside, that’s fine, it doesn’t interest me.

“I just want to focus on winning.”

The Brazilian star has already emerged as a target for Al-Ittihad, who are actively seeking a distinguished midfielder to reinforce their squad, according to Itti Mania via X.

Casemiro’s relationship with Karim Benzema could play a key role in the potential move, with the two former Real Madrid teammates sharing a strong bond from their time together in Spain between 2013 and 2022.

The report says that Benzema himself has recommended Casemiro to the Al-Ittihad hierarchy.

Al-Ittihad are reportedly keen to add a player with Casemiro’s experience, someone capable of controlling the tempo of games and providing balance in both defensive and attacking transitions.

For Manchester United, this development adds another layer of uncertainty to their squad planning, particularly given the Brazilian’s influence in the middle of the park.

Casemiro had been linked with a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr, but that move now appears unlikely to materialise.

While no official offers have been confirmed, the reports underline that United could face a major decision regarding one of their senior midfielders as the transfer window continues to unfold.

Casemiro’s potential exit would mark the end of a significant chapter at Old Trafford, leaving the Red Devils with the task of replacing not just his technical ability but also his leadership on and off the pitch.
