Manchester United’s recruitment drive is showing no signs of slowing as Ruben Amorim looks to add more quality and depth to his squad ahead of the new campaign.

The Reds have already been active in the market, strengthening key areas while keeping an eye on potential late-window opportunities.

With the Premier League season edging closer, the club’s focus has shifted towards fine-tuning the midfield, an area that proved inconsistent last term.

Sources around Carrington suggest there’s a strong emphasis on recruiting young players who can grow into long-term assets, while still making an immediate impact.

Amorim has also been clear that any late signings must align with the club’s vision, both in style of play and personality fit, rather than simply being opportunistic buys.

It has now emerged via The Athletic that several United players have taken matters into their own hands and contacted the Cameroon international in a bid to convince him to join them in Manchester.

The 21-year-old, who has impressed since arriving in the Premier League, is under contract until 2028, with the Seagulls holding an option to extend for a further year.

While Brighton have shown no intention of cashing in this summer, preferring to keep him for at least another season, Carlos Baleba is said to be open to the move.

Personal terms would not be an obstacle, with the midfielder already informed about United’s ambitions and project by players within the dressing room.

These conversations have reportedly painted a picture of a club determined to challenge for major honours again, and of a squad eager to add his skillset to their ranks.

United, however, are treading carefully and despite previous reports of a bid being put in, United will not lodge a formal bid unless they believe Brighton may soften their stance, as per The Athletic.

Talks between intermediaries are ongoing, but no price tag has been set by the south coast club.

Given United’s recent signings have fallen in the £60million to £70million bracket, any approach would need to be financially justifiable and strategically sound.

For now, the charm offensive from inside Old Trafford continues, as United’s dressing room plays its part in trying to lure one of Brighton’s brightest young talents north.
