Manchester United’s striker search this summer has been filled with disappointment and dead ends.

The club missed out on Liam Delap, who opted to join Chelsea.

While Viktor Gyokeres looks set to move to Arsenal despite strong interest from Old Trafford.

Top names like Victor Osimhen and Hugo Ekitike have also slipped away, leaving United with a long-standing problem up front still unsolved.

Rasmus Hojlund’s name continues to swirl in exit rumours.

Particularly with Inter Milan tracking the Dane, which means United are expected to find a polished, ready-made replacement.

One of the players who United have long remain linked to is Benjamin Sesko – the 22-year-old who has been thriving at RB Leipzig for two seasons now.

Sesko’s profile fits the INEOS strategy: young, athletic, and with plenty of resale value.

His agent has made multiple visits to Carrington since then, keeping communication channels open and hinting that the door is not entirely closed.

Now, according to Sam Cohen’s report for GiveMeSport, sources have confirmed that Sesko is open to joining United – even without the offer of European football.

United have tracked the Slovenian striker for over three years, with Amorim and his recruitment team rating his physical profile and all-round game highly.

Although Arsenal previously explored a move, their talks were described as “really complicated,” and they’ve since edged closer to signing Gyokeres.

Sesko, who could cost around £86m, remains firmly on United’s list, alongside Ollie Watkins and Nicolas Jackson, who has recently circulated as a surprise target.

No official offer has yet been submitted, but the Red Devils are in contact and monitoring the situation closely.

All potential incomings are being told the same message – funds must be raised through sales first.

But with Sesko willing to wait, United may well revisit the deal once their outgoings begin to move.
