Manchester United have finally agreed terms with Brentford to sign Bryan Mbeumo this summer.

After a month of contacts and negotiations, the deal for United’s priority target has been sealed with an offer of £71 million being accepted.

It’s understood that the fee is made up of a £65 million transfer fee, plus £6 million in add-ons to take the offer to Brentford’s valuation of their star attacker.

Personal terms for the Cameroon international have been in place for some time, with the 25-year-old agreeing a five-year contract until 2030 with an option to extend for a further year.

Now, all that remains is for Mbeumo to head to Old Trafford to complete his medical and sign his contract, with The Athletic reporting that the medical assessment is due to take place this weekend.

Unfortunately, this means Mbeumo will be missing the opening pre-season friendly against Leeds United in Sweden, however will be available for the pre-season tour in America.

Now, United are turning their attention to sign a striker to play in front of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, with players like Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko heading the shortlist.

Unfortunately however, the club are now reliant on making sales before any new signings can be made.

With the club experiencing severe financial pressures, sales are needed to generate funds before making any further moves in the transfer window.

This is breaking news with more to follow.
