Manchester United are reportedly closing in on their second major summer signing in the form of Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

The Cameroon international has been in the crosshairs of United since the winter after a standout season with The Bees.

As a proven Premier League attacker, Ruben Amorim is targeting Mbeumo as part his major overhaul in the final third.

With United having to rely on Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo for goals in the absence of a reliable strikers, Amorim is set to completely change his front three.

The Red Devils have already nabbed Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and are closing in on Mbeumo.

Whilst their first bid of £55 million was rejected by Brentford, a second offer has been reported as being tabled for £60 million.

Now, Anil Kandola of talkSport has reported that a deal for Mbeumo could be completed by the end of next week.

Although Spurs have tried to hijack the deal to see a reunion with Thomas Frank with a bid of £70 million, Old Trafford still appears to be Mbeumo’s preferred destination.

As such, United will only need to sign an out-and-out striker to complete their attacking overhaul.

To round off the attacking trio, United have been targeting the likes of Hugo Ekitike, Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen.

The Red Devils have already missed out on signing Liam Delap as he signed for Chelsea for Champions League football, with Gyokeres seemingly looking at a move to Arsenal.

However the United recruitment team are still looking at multiple options to bring a reliable goalscorer to Old Trafford.
