Manchester United have officially missed out on another striker this summer as The Red Devils lose out to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Ruben Amorim is desperate to bring a quality striker to Old Trafford this summer as Rasmus Hojlund has failed to bring the consistency or confidence needed in a first-choice striker.

As such, United’s recruitment team have been scouring Europe to find top talent to bring in before next season stats to help Amorim’s men bounce back.

However, The Red Devils have already missed out on Liam Delap who’s gone to Chelsea, and now have missed out on 18-year-old Charalampos Kostoulas who’s signed for Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Olympiacos striker has signed a five-year deal with the club, set to officially join Brighton on the 1st July, subject to completing the necessary regulatory processes.

Speaking about the signing, Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler commented: “Charalampos is an outstanding young player and we’re delighted he is coming to Brighton.”

He continued: “He wants to play in the Premier League and we are excited about what he can bring to the team.

“He will give us different attacking options and we’re looking forward to helping him adapt to his new environment.”

The Greek striker helped Olympiacos win the Greek League last season, with seven goals and two assists in 35 games, playing as a striker and attacking midfielder.

Whilst United have missed out on the 18-year-old they’ve been monitoring for some time, all is not lost as The Red Devils are still fighting to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon.

The in-form striker has fallen out with Sporting in a very dramatic and public fashion, and as such looks to have played his last game for the Portuguese side.

Now United are reportedly looking at penning a bid of £51 million (€60 million) as an upright fee plus £8.5 million (€10 million) in add-ons.

Amorim will no doubt be unphased by Brighton’s new signing should he successfully seal a reunion with his former star man.
