Manchester United are continuing to eye up further recruitments this summer as their move for Benjamin Sesko edges ever closer.
The Slovenia international has agreed personal terms to move to Old Trafford, with club-to-club negotiations still ongoing in what will mark the club’s third major signing this summer.
However, Ruben Amorim’s side aren’t content with just fixing their attack, also looking to strengthen other areas of the squad.
It was revealed earlier that after remodelling their attacking trio, the Red Devils are next looking to revitalise their midfield.
With Casemiro entering the final year of his contract at 33 years old, United are keen to find a long-term replacement for the midfield veteran.
As such, The Red Devils are being linked with Brighton and Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba, with The Seagulls’ CEO speaking out about the links.
Baleba came through the LOSC Lille academy before joining Brighton in 2023 for £23.5 million.
Since then, the Cameroon international has made 77 appearances for The Seagulls, helping with four goals and two assists from the defensive midfield position.
Now, talking to BBC Sport, Paul Barber commented: “There’s always going to be interest in our players. Manchester United have not been in touch with me. Speculation is speculation. “
He continued: “Carlos [Baleba] is a fantastic talent. We hope he’ll be here for years to come, but its subject to the dynamics of the football world, which isn’t always predictable.”
Whilst Barber’s comments deny any contact between United and Brighton, they don’t rule out United’s interest in the 21-year-old.
