The news that Bryan Mbeumo had moved to Manchester United left his old club, Brentford, left stranded without one of their key players from the 2024-25 campaign.
Furthermore, with the Bees losing their long-term manager Thomas Frank, the chances of the London outfit improving on last season is potentially minor.
But, with an arguably sizeable fee agreed between the two clubs for the attacker, the Bees had a decent sum of money to try and find an ideal replacement who can bring them the same level of success and quality that Mbeumo did.
Now, it seems that Brentford have signed the player that will fill Mbeumo’s void in the Bees squad.
In an official statement on their website, the London outfit announced that they had signed Dango Ouattara from AFC Bournemouth for a club-record fee.

The 23-year-old has signed a five year deal at the G-Tech Community Stadium with the option of a further year.
In his time at the Cherries, the former Lorient man had 18 goals contributions in 81 Premier League games, an average of a goal contribution every 4.5 games.
Commenting on the move, Keith Andrews, Brentford head coach, stated that the club were “really happy to get Dango in.
He’s someone that we were aware and surprised could be available and, once we knew that signing him might be a possibility, we really focused on trying to get him in.”
The head coach also believes that the 23-year-old “suits the way we want to play – he has something that we were lacking in the forward line, and he will complement what we already have in the building.”
Dango Ouattara will now join up with the rest of the squad as the Bees start the 2025-26 Premier League campaign.
