According to Sky Sports Germany, Borussia Dortmund have entered negotiations to acquire the 19-year-old.
Bellingham, the brother of Real Madrid and England star, Jude Bellingham, has starred in the Championship this season for Sunderland.
An energetic midfielder, the youngster has scored four goals, and clubs have circled in the hopes that Bellingham could reach a level similar to his brother.
Also emerging from the Birmingham City academy, the youngster left for Sunderland in 2023.
The club from the North East look to have accepted that they will not be able to hold on to Bellingham in the summer, but promotion to the Premier League could allow them stronger footing in negotiations.
Promotion will have to be achieved through the Championship play offs, after Sunderland finished fourth.
But they got off to the best possible start last night against Coventry City, a Eliezer Mayenda goal in the closing stages giving them a 2-1 lead before Tuesday’s semi-final second leg.
